Trip Overview

Tour Information
The UNESCO World Heritage listed Royal Chitwan National Park is located in the lowland of the Inner Terai Region of southern Nepal near the border with India. The park has an area of 932 sq. km and was created in 1973. In 1984 it was listed as a World Heritage Site as the best example of a pristine lowland Terai in the Indian subcontinent.
The park is rich in wildlife with a wide range mammals, birds and reptiles. It is most famous for its population of over 500 one-horned Asiatic rhinoceros as well as a large population of the rare Royal Bengal tiger. Other mammal species include elephants, leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, rhesus monkey, grey langur and several species of deer. In the waterways and swamps you will find two species of crocodile, the marsh mugger and the fish eating gharial. There are many brilliantly coloured birds among the 450 species found in the park.
The Chitwan Safari package into Chitwan National Park provides a unique opportunity to visit and explore one of Nepals most fascinating destinations. This 3 day tour can be arranged from either Kathmandu or Pokhara and is guaranteed to provide you with memorable experiences. Although generally conducted as a 3 day tour it can be modified to suit your budget or specific requirements.
