Patan (also known as Lalitpur) is located a short 20min drive from Kathmandu and is the second largest city in Kathmandu valley. It houses the residence of the former Patan royal family and its Durbar Square is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The square is filled with numerous temples, shrines, statues and stone sculptures and is often said to provide the most visually stunning examples of Newari architecture and culture to be seen anywhere in Nepal.
On the Patan Day Tour you will visit the Royal Palace with its three main courtyards, Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk. You will also visit other major attractions like Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple and the Golden Temple of Hiranya Varna, all excellent examples of Newari craftsmanship.
