The three days trek to the Dhampus is a short but rewarding option offering wonderful views over the Annapurna Range and glimpses into the lifestyle and culture of the Gurung people who inhabit the area. Because the trek is at low altitude, temperatures are relatively mild. The gradient of the trails is generally gentle so a high level of fitness is not required.
After a short drive from Pokhara, the trek commences at Phedi followed by a three hour trek to Dhampus. The late afternoon offers spectacular sunset views over the Annapurnas and for early risers, a similar view can be expected the following morning. After breakfast at our teahouse, we trek through fascinating villages on our way to the village of Sarangkot where we can again witness a stunning sunset and sunrise the following morning. Following breakfast we trek to Phewa Lake where we catch a boat back to Pokhara.
This is an excellent trek for those with limited time but seeking a glimpse of the great scenery and unique culture that Nepal has to offer. It is also suitable for families with children.
The trek starts and finishes in Pokhara. To keep cost as low as possible, we offer the flexibility for you to arrange your own transport to the start and from end of the trek if you wish. Alternatively, we are happy to arrange all connections within Nepal as well as accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara if required.
