Understandably, the Everest region is one of the world’s most popular and spectacular trekking destinations and the Everest Base Camp trek offers trekkers the amazing opportunity to get close to the worlds highest peak, Mt Everest. To the Nepalese it is simply called Sagarmatha, the “sky head”. To the Tibetans it is Chomolungma, the mother goddess of the earth.
The trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. We then follow the Khumbu Valley on a well formed trail that has served as the traditional access to villages of the Sherpa people. We stay in the bustling market village of Namche Bazaar and then follow the raging Imja Khola River to the base camp situated in a high valley below Mount Everest.
We will visit many traditional Sherpa villages along the way giving you the opportunity to meet the Sherpa people where you can explore their traditional way of life, enjoy their hospitality and sample traditional Nepali food. We will visit Tengboche, the home of Nepal’s most famous monastery, with the impressive backdrop of Mt Everest. We will trek to Kala Patthar to experience breathtaking views of Everest, Nuptse and Lotse. We will pass beneath the Khumbu icefall at the head of the Khumbu Glacier, a dangerous section of the South Col route to the summit of Everest.

1 Reviews on Everest Base Camp
We did the Everest base camp trek with the company lead Badri. We had a unforgettable trek and Badri was a brilliant, very knowledgable guide. I believe he offered a lot more than some of the other larger companies and, together with the porters were so friendly and accommodating. We ended our trip with a visit to his home for his son birthday party! I couldn’t recommend it more. Flo, UK
